I’d argue with the I/O, battery, HD, phone to line conversion missing and compared to what the Live sells for new this should have an MSRP for far less. MPC One is a total music production solution to take your ideas from concept to finalized radio-ready beats. The main difference between the two is price and weight.
The MPC Live also lacks hardware controls critical to a hands-on workflow (eg buttons for modes…instead it has + / - buttons which are pretty much useless…the MPC One remedies this to some extend but eg the awkward Q-Links mapping and the lack of eg a Macros page still limits eg immediate hands on control of onboard effects). Trending price is based on prices over last 90 days. Akai’s MPC Live II is an all-in-one portable studio in the truest sense thanks to the addition of built-in speakers.
